Health Promotion and Wellness at Illinois State educates students about healthy lifestyles and empowers them to work toward a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
No one likes to get sick, especially when Mom's chicken soup is a couple of hours away. Our Student Health Services' medical clinic provides quality, convenient, low-cost primary health care for students. All students who register for one or more hours and pay the Health Fee are eligible to use all the services of the on-campus clinic. You can see a board certified physician, physician assistant, or advanced practice nurse for things you would normally see your family physician for, such as:
Our on-site pharmacy is staffed by registered pharmacists and technicians. The pharmacy will fill prescriptions from any licensed physician or dentist if the medication is on the Pharmacy Drug Formulary. The pharmacy provides those medications most frequently required by students. Prescription and over-the-counter items are sold at a reduced cost to students. Most prescription insurance cards are accepted.
All undergraduate and graduate students automatically receive student health insurance from the University. If you already have health insurance, Student Health Insurance coordinates with your family coverage, so most medical expenses would be 100% covered. The University plan would cover deductibles, co-insurance, and anything else otherwise unpaid by your other insurance.
Student Counseling Services assists students with personal, academic, and career-related concerns by providing counseling, outreach, and other services. Student Counseling Services offers a variety of confidential, no-fee services including:
Student Access and Accommodation Services assists students with disabilities or medical conditions who may need accommodations to fully participate on campus. These accommodations may include special parking designations, housing arrangements, and/or dietary needs.
