Graduate Student-at-Large (non-degree seeking)
Program Requirements
You must have completed or will complete a bachelor's degree or equivalent before the term applied to begins.
This option is available for students who wish to take undergraduate or graduate courses for personal interest or enrichment, and should not be pursued by students seeking to earn a graduate degree at Illinois State University.

- Enrollment as a graduate student-at-large is an unclassified status and does not constitute admission to a degree program in the Graduate School at Illinois State University. Students enrolled as a graduate student-at-large should understand that there is no guarantee that credits earned from enrollment as a student-at-large will be applicable to a degree at Illinois State. However, all graduate courses taken as a student-at-large will be computed into an Illinois State graduate grade point average. Admission as a graduate student-at-large does not guarantee availability of desired classes, as courses in some programs are limited only to students admitted into those programs. Furthermore, unclassified students may not be eligible for Financial Aid.
- An official transcript may be needed for placement in some courses.
