Application Process
Applying to Illinois State is the first step toward studying in the U.S. Be sure to carefully review the admissions requirements and application information before you apply.
You should apply early (9 – 12 months in advance) and submit all necessary supporting information and documents for the best consideration for admission to your program of choice.
Please note, there are many programs of study that may fill or close before the deadline date. The application deadlines listed below are subject to change.
For the summer (May/June) term
- Graduate students: Must apply and submit required documents by April 1*
- Undergraduate students:
- Must apply by April 1
- Required documents due April 1
- English Language Institute: March 1
For the fall (August) term
- Graduate students: Must apply and submit required documents by May 1*
- Undergraduate students:
- Must apply by April 1
- Required documents due April 1
- English Language Institute: May 1
For the spring (January) term
- Graduate students: Must apply by and submit required documents October 1*
- Undergraduate students:
- Must apply by September 1
- Required documents due October 1
- English Language Institute: October 1
* Many graduate programs have earlier deadlines than the ones listed above. Check with the department or school of your intended program to find out if there is an earlier deadline.
