Advisement & Course Registration
Once your re-admission has been approved, you will need to meet with your academic advisor and register for classes. As a former Illinois State student, the class registration process may have changed since your last enrollment. You should register using My.IllinoisState.edu where an online Course Registration Directory and Planner are available.
You will find your starting registration date and time through Course Registration in My.IllinoisState.edu on the Academics tab under "Course Registration". In addition, information regarding registration start and ending times is available in the Calendar section of My.IllinoisState.edu. For more information about class registration, contact the Registrar Service Center at (309) 438-2188 or visit the office in Moulton 107.
Undergraduate students who are not currently enrolled or were not at Illinois State during the previous semester (excluding summer) must first apply for readmission.
Prior to Registration
Meet with your academic advisor. Advisor phone numbers and advisement locations are listed in the online Course Registration Directory. You are encouraged to contact your advisor as soon as possible to schedule an appointment as appointment times may fill during the Advance Registration Period. It is possible that you may be encouraged to make an appointment for the next available registration period. If you have earned fewer than 24 semester hours, are an Undeclared student, or are considered to be “Unclassified” (non-degree-seeking), you must meet with an advisor in the Academic Advisement Center, Fell Hall 340, (309) 438-7604. If you have a declared major, contact your major department/school for advisement.
In order to complete the steps below, you need your University Identification Number (UID).
Activate your ULID and Password. You will need to activate your ULID in order to register for classes, read your Illinois State email, and access the My.IllinoisState.edu. To activate your ULID, visit the ULID Account Setup and Maintenance web site -- click on the link indicating “ULID Activation.”
Reset your Registration PIN Number. You will need to reset your PIN if you do not recall your PIN from your previous enrollment at Illinois State. You can reset your PIN by bringing a photo I.D. to the Registrar Service Center Center in Moulton Hall 107 or by faxing a written request to (309) 438-8652. The written request must include your name, University Identification Number (UID), date of birth, a copy of your Redbird Card, the statement “default my PIN to my month and date of birth (mmdd),” and your signature. Your PIN cannot be changed via phone. More information in regard to your PIN and how to reset it can be found at the Personal Identification Number (PIN) web site.
