Open Houses are held several times throughout the year and are the best way for you to learn and see more of Illinois State. Take a campus tour, visit a residence hall, talk with our students, hear about the application and admission process, learn about the majors we offer, talk with various campus representatives, and more.
Daily Campus Visits are offered most weekdays, Monday through Friday throughout the year, and on scheduled Saturdays from September through April. This two and a half hour group session includes a presentation by an admissions counselor, a student-led walking tour of campus, and typically a residence hall tour. In addition, you can add the following sessions to your visits. Please note that the additional sessions will make your visit longer.
Academic Meetings Learn more about your academic area of interest by scheduling a meeting with an academic department. We recommend checking the academic meeting times before selecting your visit day. Once you select your visit date, register online for the Daily Campus Visit and then call the Office of Admissions at 309.438.2181 to schedule an academic meeting.
Financial Aid and Scholarships Presentations Financial Aid and Scholarships Presentations are offered on select Mondays and Fridays during the academic year (September - April). The program is designed to accompany your Daily Campus Visit, providing additional information about costs, financial aid, and scholarships. Space is limited, so please register separately if you wish to join us.
Honors Program Visit You can submit a visit request to meet individually with an Honors Advisor to learn more about the unique learning opportunities available in the Honors Program. Students who have an ACT score in the upper 20s and a GPA of 3.5 or above are encouraged to apply for the Honors Program.
Saturday Campus Visits Saturday Campus Visits are offered on select Saturdays from September through April. This two-hour group session includes a presentation by an admissions counselor, a student-led walking tour of campus, and typically a residence hall tour. Saturday Campus Visits start in State Farm Hall of Business.
Group visits are a great opportunity to introduce your group of high school students to Illinois State University.
Summer tours of the residence halls will be from May 22 - August 4. Residence Hall Tours are a part of the Daily Campus Visits and visitors will preview Hewett and Manchester Halls. Other areas are not accessible due to summer conference guests and in preparation for fall. Residence Housing Tours will not be available from August 7 - August 25.Academic Year Tours
During the academic year (mid-August - early May) the Daily Campus Visits and Open Houses typically include a residence hall tour option. You may visit all residence halls during the hours listed below. Additionally, a show room is available during these times in the Community Center of the Cardinal Court student apartment complex, which houses primarily sophomore students.
Monday-Friday 11:30a.m. – 1:30 p.m & 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Saturday 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Our residence halls are secured by electronic access 24-hours a day. Upon arrival, please use the telephone system outside the building entrance to contact the front desk. A tour guide will be happy to show you around the building
Appointments are not necessary Monday through Saturday during these scheduled hours. To make an appointment outside of scheduled hours, please call University Housing Services at (309) 438-8611 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
