Why did you choose Illinois State?

I chose ISU because of the beautiful campus, friendly community, and distance to home. It felt like a home away from home for me… and now it really is my home!

What advice do you have for students considering Illinois State?

Find a school that truly feels like the best place for you… not because of your parents or friends. You want to make sure you truly love where you are going because you’ll be here for at least four years. Also, get involved on campus! There’s hundreds of organizations to get involved in so don’t be shy.

What do you like best about Illinois State?

The sense of community and rich history of the university. We may not be a Big 10 school, but there’s so much pride and cool things that have happened here.

What are your favorite memories of your college years at Illinois State?

Siblings weekend my sophomore year. My brother and I went to different events on campus, including the Gamma Phi Circus show with some other friends and their siblings. It was out of this world. I met my college sweetheart who is now my husband while at ISU. We pushed each other to study and get good grades.
