Second Bachelor's Degree

A student who has already received one bachelor's degree from Illinois State University, or from another college or university accredited for baccalaureate degrees by the appropriate regional accrediting association, may receive a second bachelor's degree at Illinois State University.

All specified requirements at the time of admission to the program for the second degree must be met. The program of study completed for the second degree must include at least 32 semester hours of coursework taken after the granting of the first degree, of which 30 semester hours must be taken in residence at Illinois State. At least 24 of the 32 semester hours taken toward the second degree must be senior college level.

Scott Guerrero is a senior studying Music and Spanish Education. He has toured internationally with the Illinois State Choir while completing his degree. He’s also been involved in campus ministries, Habitat for Humanity, University Housing, and as an Admissions Ambassador. A Preview guide who works with incoming freshmen, Scott’s advice is simple: “Do not limit yourself in what you can do. Always take the opportunities that are afforded to you. There’s so much here!”
