Transfer Student Information Session

Get all of the information you need to make a smooth transition to Illinois State and see what makes this a great place for transfer students.

During our Transfer Student Information Sessions, an admissions counselor explains the transfer process, including:

admission requirements;
transferring credits;
applying for financial aid and scholarships; and
transition programs.

You'll also tour the campus with a current student that offers an optional residence hall tour.

All sessions meet in the Office of Admissions, 201 Hovey Hall. The program lasts about an hour and a half.

Open House programs are another good option for you to learn more about the transfer process, take a tour of campus, and more. Also, transfer students are welcome to attend a campus information session if those dates are more convenient for you; however, those programs are geared more toward first-year students.

Please note:

This is a campus visit session, not registration or orientation for admitted students. Our Transfer Day program is for transfer students admitted to Illinois State. You will register for courses and get acquainted with the University. To learn more, please visit ucollege.IllinoisState.edu/transferdays.

Also, if you plan to visit on a Saturday, please remember most campus offices are closed. If you wish to meet with a department or another campus representative, such as Financial Aid, please make arrangements during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Where do I park?

The Office of Admissions is located in Hovey Hall on the corner of North and School Streets. Visitors are encouraged to park in the Bone Student Center visitor parking lot on Locust Street. The parking lot is a 5-minute walk from Hovey Hall and is connected to the heart of campus by a convenient pedestrian crosswalk.

The red Reggie Redbirds painted on the walkway beginning from the parking lot leading toward Milner Library and the Bone Student Center will lead your way to Hovey Hall. For those guests who need an accessible route, please follow the red Reggie Redbirds to the staircase and then follow the white Reggie Redbirds to Hovey Hall.
